$21,000 was raised at the Earl Farm Foundation Ice Cream Social & Vintage Baseball Game. Thank you so much for all those that contributed. Over 200 people watched as the Howell Cow Tippers took on the Cornshuckers Base Ball Club of Canton. The Cornshuckers defeated the home town Tippers 20-7. Fun was had by all. Thank you to so many people for contributing to the event. Our key sponsors were: Mugg & Bopps for the ice cream, drinks and Cracker Jack. The Key Group Morgan Stanley of Howell for The Fox & The Fiddle band. Bill and Barrie Lynn Wood for creating and donating the beautiful scoreboard, and so many others.

All of the funds raised will continue to help provide healthy beef protein in the form of one pound packages of hamburger to our local food pantries. So far this year we have donated 10 cows totaling 4,900 pounds. Times are becoming harder and harder lately and everything you can do to support us on a monthly basis would be greatly appreciated. Join us in our "Neighbors Feeding Neighbors" campaign and go to www.earlfarm.com to sign up and contribute.

On this day the Canton Cornshuckers will take on the Howell Cow Tippers in a vintage base ball match at the Earl Farm in Howell. "Base ball", as it was spelled in the 1800's until early 1900's, became America's pastime as it appealed to Americans of all ages. The game will be played using 1864's rules. During this era of base ball there were no gloves used and the ball was much softer than today's baseballs. We selected the year 1864 as that was the year the Earl Farm was established by Oliver and Elizabeth Earl.
Another nostalgia that brings back happy times in America is an "Ice Cream Social." There will be plenty of cold ice cream to help you enjoy the games on a warm July afternoon. Hot dogs, cool drinks, adult beverages, and other base ball traditions will be on hand. Bring a folding chair, a blanket, or sit on the front porch to watch the competition.
All money raised will go to the Earl Farm Foundation to continue to provide healthy beef protein to our local food pantries. The Earl Farm Foundation is a 501©3 nonprofit organization.
